The 1968-1970 Ford Mustang was manufactured by Ford Motor Company, and also the introduction of the Mustang created a new class of car known as a pony car. The Ford Mustang was designed by Gale Halderman and was produced from July 1968 till June 1970. The Mustang was assembled in various places such as Dearborn, Michigan, Milpitas, California, Metuchen, New Jersey, Valencia, Venezuela, and Mexico City, Mexico. As for the bodystyle and the chassis the Ford Mustang came in three different styles the first one was a 2-door hardtop. The second one was a 2-door fastback which was one of the most popular one, and the third one was a 2-door convertible. And then there was the special and rare model was the Shelby. As for the engine and transmission the Ford Mustang had multiple different types of engines going from a 200 cu in 3.3L Thriftpower I6 to a 429 cu in 7.0L Boss V8. And the transmissions were a 3-speed manual, 4-speed manual, and a 3-speed automatic. The 1968-1970 Ford Mustangs were built for racing in NASCAR and were created to meet the Trans Am rules and regulations. The reason on why I chose this car for my blog is because this is one of the coolest Mustangs that I have ever seen Ford build, and also im not really a Mustang person. Meaning if I was given the option of choosing a Mustang or Camaro I would have to go with the Camaro. So the reason why I like this Mustang is because of the shape of the body with its air scoop and the NASCAR-style cable pin tiedowns on the hood and the wood trimmed dashboard and steering wheel.
The 1968-1969 Chevrolet Corvette or also known as the C3 was the third generation of the original Corvette. The class of car that the C3 is a sports car, and it was produced by the Chevrolet Division of General Motors. The C3 was designed by Zora Arkus Dontov the chief engineer and Bill Mitchel the chief stylist. The C3 was assembled in St. Louis, Missouri from 68-81 and also in Bowling Green, Kentucky from 81-82. The bodystyle of the C3 is a 2-door convertible or a 2-door coupe, with the layout of a FR layout. The FR stands for the engine is located in the front of the car and the wheels rotate from the rear or the back of the car. As for the engine the C3 is equipped with a 350 cu in 5.7L small block V8. And the reason why Chevrolet put a small block in the C3 instead of a big block was because the big block threw of the weight ratio and also because it wouldn't fit in the car. The transmission for the C3 is a 3-speed automatic or if preferred the C3 can also have a 4-speed manual transmission. As for some of the unique features the C3 possessed were the removable roof panels also known as the T-top with the removable rear window. Also the concealed headlights that could be operated with a button, and also the new Astro Ventalation air conditioner used to cool down the cabin. The reason why I chose this car is because of the edgy look of the car its a look that draws you in. The C3 looks like a jet with is low dipping sharp hood and its rear spoiler rising and then lowering as you reach the end of it. To me this car is a classic example of what a Corvette is a all about with a look that will turn heads and an engine that makes people jump back in fear. Also the cool ventilation gills on the side of the car that makes it really look like a real stingray, and also with the gaping mouth in the front.
